A personal journey – a vision that changes lives
My mother suffered a severe stroke in 2018 – right in the middle of a hospital – but unfortunately it was not discovered until the following morning. For her, any help came too late. Such a tragic event changes a life – not just my own, but certainly that of many other people as well.
Standing helplessly by their bedside, unable to do anything – and then having to say goodbye just a few weeks later – left me with an agonising question: What could I have done better? It is a feeling I share with many others in the same situation. And it is precisely this feeling that continues to drive me to this day.
Many such cases do not occur in supervised care homes – but at home, where often no one realises in time that help is needed.
Whilst searching for solutions, I came across a market full of all sorts of emergency call systems, alarm devices and aids. However, almost all of them require the person concerned to take action themselves in an emergency – for example, by pressing a button. But what if that is no longer possible?
My answer is smartangel®.
smartangel® is more than just a traditional emergency call system. It is a personal companion that combines safety, health information and direct communication. Our products are based on three key principles:
- 1Simplify life thanks to its intuitive operation, suitable for all ages
- 2Protecting lives through proactive techniques such as vital signs monitoring or location tracking
- 3Support Quick Help through simple and clear communication in an emergency
The name smartangel® is no coincidence. The ‘ANG’ in our products stands for the first three letters of ANGEL – the guardian angel – and of Angela, my mother’s name.

Feedback from our customers – our daily motivation
I was unable to save my mother’s life. Yet today we are receiving numerous heart-warming messages from people whose lives – or those of their loved ones – have been saved or significantly improved thanks to smartangel®.
Whether it is through the timely detection of a deterioration in vital signs, leading to a prompt visit to the doctor, or, for example, through automated emergency detection following a fall: stories like these help to close the circle of grief a little more each time – and open the circle of hope.
Every day, they inspire our entire team to continue working towards our mission with passion, a spirit of innovation and the power of genuine listening: to protect people of all ages and heroes on duty in critical situations.
The heart in our logo symbolises this commitment. It beats for the vision of changing lives – through empathy, technology and genuine conviction.
